Respondents Prayer:Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records of the first respondent in G.O.Ms.210 Housing and Urban Development (Viva 5(1) Department dated 21.08.2002 and quash the said order and consequently forbear the respondents from taking any action including demanding enhanced rent pursuant to the first respondent's order dated 21.08.2002 and direct the respondents to continue to levy the rent on the single person quarter let out to the petitioners as per the formula existing prior to the aforesaid order.

When the matter was listed today, Ms.Thamizharasi, Advocate representing learned counsel for the petitioner filed a Memo stating as follows:
"The Counsel for petitioner respectfully submits as follows:
1.The writ petition was filed on behalf of the petitioner in the year 2003 challenging the increase of rent by the respondent.
2.When the writ petition was listed on 16.12.2017, we took an adjournment to get instruction from our client i.e., the petitioners herein. Immediately, we sent a letter through Registered Post to both the petitioner on 16.12.2017, however the same has been return with an endorsement "No such address". 3.Since we do not have any instruction in the subject case from our client, we request this Hon'ble Court to permit us to withdraw the writ petition.
It is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may take this memo on record and close the writ petition has withdrawn." 2.Recording the same, the writ petition stands dismissed as withdrawn. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
