The Petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6(4) of the TN Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) 1982 r/w. Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.166 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the while the respondent police was on regular patrol duty, they found the petitioner illegally transporting 1000 kilograms of PDS Rice, worth about Rs.6,000/-. Hence, the case. 3.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent, while opposing for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, submitted that the petitioner had illegally transported 1000 kilograms of PDS Rice, worth about Rs.6,000/-. He further submitted that the petitioner 1/3

has two previous cases pending against him.

dsa 5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

6.Taking into consideration the facts and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) and considering the previous cases pending against the petitioner/accused, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
