ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 18.12.2018, the accused drove the vehicle and caused simple injuries. The case was registered in Crime No.164 of 2018 for the alleged offences under Section 279 and 337 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860.

3. When the matter was called, the accused was present and pleaded guilty. Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that he has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.200/- for the offence under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860 and and Rs.300/- for the offence under Section 337 of IPC, totalling Rs.500/-. The fine amount shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

4. Accordingly, the STC.No.583/2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No. II court Karaikal, Karaikal Taluk, Karaikal shall stand disposed of and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of. 12.09.2025 shl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned. Page No.2 of 3
