JUDGMENT

[Judgment of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN.J] The orders under challenge in these proceedings are the notices issued under the Tamil Nadu Public Premises and Eviction of Unauthorized Occupation Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 1/1976) to the appellant.

2. The learned counsel for the appellant would submit that the Government vide G.O.(2D) No.7 dated 12.02.2021 has extended the lease granted to the appellant for a period of twelve years. Hence, the proceedings can be terminated due to the subsequent events.

3. Taking into account the submission of the learned counsel for the appellant, this writ appeal is dismissed as having become infructuous. It will be open to the appellant-Club to approach the Government seeking reconsideration 2/4

of the lease rent that has been fixed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
