ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.

This case is registered in Cr. No. 541 of 2021 dated 19.10.2021, for the alleged offence under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 5 and 7(3) of the Lotteries Regulation Act, regarding the allegation selling Duplicate Kerala lottery by noting down the serial numbers. case, warrant is yet to be executed on the accused. Considering the nature of the allegation and the accused facing the case since 2021, and the submission that, despite best efforts, the warrant could not be executed, further continuation of the trial would impinge upon the right to a speedy trial of the accused. Continuing with the case would serve no useful purpose. 3.

Accordingly, the proceedings in C.C.No.490 of 2021 of Judicial Magistrate No.II, Erode Taluk, Erode is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

18.09.2025 gsa electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
