PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to provide the electricity supply connection to all the five portions with a favourable consideration.

O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to 2nd respondent to provide electricity service connection to five portions of the petitioner's properties located in Door No.56-A, Pushpa Nagar Main Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai-34.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is in lawful possession of the said property and already he was provided with service connection in the ground floor. In respect of the other separate portions in the said building, the petitioner applied for the service connection and the same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court. 3.Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Standing Counsel(TNSCB) takes notice for the 1st respondent and Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel (TNEB) takes notice for the 2nd respondent.

4. The learned Standing Counsel (TNEB) for the 2nd respondent on instructions submits that no application for electricity service connection is pending on the file of sub-ordinates of the 2nd respondent. 2/4

5. Even in the writ petition affidavit, the petitioner has not stated the details of the application submitted by him. The application filed by the petitioner has not been included in the typed set of papers. The petitioner has only filed legal notice issued on 19.09.2024. Even in the legal notice issued by the petitioner's counsel, the application details are not included. In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to entertain the prayer sought for by the petitioner. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed.

6. It is needless to say that it is for the petitioner to apply for electricity service connection by filing appropriate application. If any such application is filed, the same shall be considered by the competent authority in accordance with the law.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
