ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the Respondents to revoke the look out circular issued against the petitioner in connection with Cr.No.378/1994 on the file of the 2nd respondent.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that in the year 1994, an FIR in Crime No.378 of 1994 was registered against the petitioner for the offence under Sections 147, 294, 448, 324, 336, 307 r/w 84 IPC for allegedly made an attempt to cause the death of the defacto complainant. Thereafter, on investigation, the police found that the very complaint itself is frivolous and finally closed the FIR in RCS.No.11 of 1994 on 11.08.1994. However, when the petitioner returned from Malaysia on 20.09.2024, he was detained in the Trichy Airport on the ground that there was a look out circular issued against him in respect of the said crime number.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the said FIR has been closed and RCS is also served. He further submitted that no look out circular has been issued against the petitioner.

4. In view of the above submissions, this Court directs the second respondent to send necessary communication to the third respondent informing them that Crime No.378 of 1994 has been closed against the petitioner. On such communication, the third respondent shall withdraw the look out circular if any issued against the petitioner in respect of the said crime number. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of.
