ORDER
Mr.V.Jeevagiridharan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. With the consent of both the learned counsels, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 1 st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 26.08.2025 within the stipulated time to be fixed by this Court. 3.The case of the petitioner is that he belongs to Scheduled Caste community [Hindu Adi Dravidar]. He studied in Tamil Medium from Standard 2/6
1 to B.Sc. degree. The petitioner submits that while applying to the post of SubInspector in the Fisheries Department through on-line, due to inadvertence, in stead of typing 'yes' in the PSTM column, he had typed as 'No. The petitioner further submits that he was ranked 28 in the SC Communal category and he was called for certificate verification and counselling on 26.08.2025. During certificate verification, it was found that he has wrongly typed as 'No' in stead of 'Yes' in the PSTM column and hence, his case would not be considered under SC [General] PSTM category through the respondents were convinced that he studied in Tamil medium only. The petitioner submits that he submitted a request letter / representation dated 26.08.
2025 to the 1 st respondent for condoning the inadvertent mistake and to consider him under SC [G] PSTM category. Since, the petitioner's representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. 4.Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. 5.From the perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner has given the representation only on 26.08.2025, and he has immediately rushed to the Court.
limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, a direction is issued to the 1 st respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 26.08.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
