Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to refund the admission fee of Rs. 54,800/- collected from the petitioner for Grade 3 admission of his daughter, Miss.Vamshika Sri, which was unjustly retained without providing any educational service. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to refund the admission fee of Rs.54,800/- collected by the fifth respondent School towards the admission of the petitioner's daughter's in Grade III.

2. Heard M/s.B.N.Sinega, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Prabhakaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 2 & 4. Perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner's daughter was admitted to the fifth respondent School in Grade I. After completion of Grade II, the petitioner paid a sum of Rs.54,800/- on 02.06.2025 towards admission to Grade III. However, due to an unforeseen and immediate relocation of his residence, the petitioner was constrained to withdraw his daughter's admission on 05.06.2025. Consequently, the petitioner requested the fifth respondent to refund the admission fee.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the fifth respondent is directed to refund a sum of Rs.54,800/-, which was collected from the petitioner towards his daughter's admission to Grade III, forthwith.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 10.09.2025 Internet : Yes Index : Yes/No Lpp
