ORDER
The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that his basic pay on the date of his retirement has been erroneously fixed by the respondents.

The petitioner retired from service on 31.05.2022. According to him, in respect of the similarly placed employees, the basic pay was fixed as on 31.05.2022 at Rs.60,900/- whereas the petitioner's basic pay was erroneously fixed at Rs.59,100/-. In such circumstances, he has given a representation on 12.10.2022 to refix his basic pay on the date of his retirement i.e. on 31.05.2022 at Rs.60,900/-. Since the representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this writ petition.

Heard Mr.V.Lakshmi Narayanan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.U.Dinesh Raj Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2022 seeking to refix his basic pay on the date of his retirement i.e. on 31.05.2022 at Rs.60,900/- within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
