O R D E R

The petitioner herein was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 19.08.2025 for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 275, 123 of BNS, 2023 (273, 328 of IPC) and Section 7(1), 20(1) of Cigarette and Other 1/4

Tobacco Products Act, 2003 in Crime No.337 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused persons, was found in possession of 499.50 kg of banned tobacco products. Hence, the complaint.

3. On reading of the First Information Report, it is seen that this petitioner had arranged for the purchase of the said banned tobacco products.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that there are totally seven accused in this case and two of the accused are still absconding.

5. Considering the quantum of banned tobacco products seized as well as the objection made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petitions stands dismissed.
