The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash G.O./Police Note No. SC / 29 / 2017 dated 14.09.2017, only in respect of the seventh respondent.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the petitioner appeared as Party - In - Person and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the writ petition was filed challenging the promotion given to the seventh respondent and during the pendancy of this writ petition, the seventh respondent completed his tenure as Director General of Police and also retired from service and hence nothing survives for adjudication.

3.In view of the submission made by the petitioner/ Party - In - Person as well as the respondents, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
