ORDER

This Criminal original petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to give police protection to the petitioner and her family members in pursuant to the representation dated 09.12.2022.

2. Heard the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was working under one Mayakrishnan, who was collecting funds from the public and was investing the funds in share and trading business; since Mayakrishnan all of a sudden absconded, the persons who had deposited their money with Mayakrishnan had given police complaint; in the name of police enquiry, the petitioner is being harassed by the police and sometimes people gathered in groups and abused the petitioner and her family members in filthy language and threatened them with dire consequences; since the petitioner has apprehension about her safety and security, she had given a representation to the police for seeking protection, but so far no action has Page No.2 of 4

been taken.

4.The learned Government Advocate for the first and second respondents submitted that the police patrolling is being done in the area where the petitioner resides and it is not possible for the second respondent to give personal security 24x7.

5. Even in the petition filed by the petitioner, she has stated that on one occasion 250 members gathered and created a ruckus and she called control room of the first respondent police and on instructions, the second respondent came to the spot and persuaded the people to disperse. Since the petitioner cannot expect the second respondent police to be stationed at her house 24x7 and provide protection. Hence, it is appropriate to direct the first respondent's patrolling wing to do regular patrols to avert any untowardness.

6.With the above direction, this Criminal original Petition stands disposed off.
