Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents herein to pass appropriate orders promote the petitioners notionally as Head Constable on completion of five years of service as Grade-1 PC from the year 1981 and further promote them notionally as Sub-Inspector of police from the year 1996 and also grant further promotion as Inspector of police notionally from the year 2007 with all service and monetary benefits.

Heard Mr. V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. P.Balathandayutham, Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

The Writ Petition has been filed for directing the Respondents to pass appropriate orders for promoting the Petitioners notionally as Head Constable on completion of five years of service as Grade-1 Police Constable from the year 1981 and to further promote them notionally as Sub-Inspector of police from the year 1996 and also grant further promotion as Inspector of police notionally from the year 2007 with all service and monetary benefits.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner, on instructions, states that the Petitioners have filed another Writ Petition in W.P. No. 18069 of 2018 in which the order dated 15.12.2021 has been passed rejecting the claim made by them. In view of the same, they are not pressing this Writ Petition and seeks permission of the Court to withdraw this Writ Petition and he has also made an endorsement to that effect in the court record. 4.

In fine, the Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs.
