Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pass orders for applicability of revised guidelines for requirement of excess land for Self Financing arts and Science colleges established prior to the academic year 2014- 15 to enable the existing colleges to utilize the surplus land/ excess land as per revised norms to be utilised for other educational purposes, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner association dated 26.03.2024 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. ORDER
With consent of both sides, this Writ Petition has been taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to pass orders for applicability of revised guidelines for requirement of excess land for Self Financing arts and Science colleges established prior to the academic year
2014- 15 to enable the existing colleges to utilize the surplus land/ excess land as per revised norms to be utilised for other educational purposes, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner association dated 26.03.2024 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3. Considering the limited relief sought for in the petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, directs the first respondent to consider the representation dated 26.03.2024 made by the petitioner after issuance of notice to the petitioner and the fifth respondent and after giving opportunity of hearing to them, pass orders on merits and in accordance with law in the light of G.O. (Ms) No.40, Higher Education (E1) Department dated 28.02.2014, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
