The writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus, seeking electricity connection for domestic purposes for the residence of the petitioner at Plot No. 123, 2nd Street, Bharath Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kolathur, Chennai- 600 099.

2. The petitioner has given an application/representation on 12.09.2022. Even without entering into a discussion as to whether the petitioner is entitled for such connection or not, let the petitioner first make an online application providing details about the property tax payment made and also providing proof of residence like ration card, Aadhaar card or any other document. This on-line application may be made by the petitioner through proper channel on or before 03.02.2023 and if its so done, the respondents are under obligation to examine the same and either provide electricity connection and if for some reason they are of the opinion that the petitioner is disentitled, then issue notice to the petitioner, explain to the petitioner, obtain further document if required and complete the entire process on or before 03.03.2023.
