[Order of the Court was made by SUNDER MOHAN, J.] The petitioner herein is the detenue viz., Paul Durai, S/o.Lakshmana Nadar, aged 70 years, confined at Central prison, Palayamkottai, who had been released on interim bail for a period of two months vide order of this Court dated 11.01.2024, and the matter was posted today.

2. This Court had earlier granted interim bail since the petitioner's representation for premature release was not considered on or before 12.10.2023 as directed by a co-ordinate bench of this Court.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the premature release process is still at the same stage and further orders have not been so far passed.

4. While granting interim bail, this Court had directed the State Authorities to submit a report with regard to the prison inmate before expiry of two months. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has now produced a

report of the Probation Officer, which states that the conduct of the detenu was good during the said period of two months.

5. In view of the above facts and also taking note of the fact that the interim bail expires on 10.03.2024, we are inclined to extend the interim bail till 10.06.2024 on the same conditions imposed in WMP.No.31824 of 2023 dated 11.01.2024. Accordingly, this petition is allowed, by granting interim bail from 10.03.2024 till 10.06.2024.
