Prayer: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 24.01.2024 to regularize the services of the petitioner as Drivers with effect from 13.12.1995 as per the Resolution No.2984/95 dated 13.12.1995 of the Greater Chennai Corporation, and the ratification order issued in G.O.Ms.No.67 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (Ma.Na.3) Department dated 24.04.1998 and in the light of the Judgement in W.P.No.6227/2022 and 25450/2021 dated 19.03.2025 together with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame.

The Writ Petition is filed for the relief of a Mandamus, directing the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 24.01.2024 to regularize the services of the petitioner as Drivers with effect from 13.12.1995 as per the Resolution No.2984/95 dated 13.12.1995 of the Greater Chennai Corporation, and the ratification order issued in G.O.Ms.No.67 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (Ma.Na.3) Department dated 24.04.1998 and in the light of the Judgement in W.P.No.6227/2022 and 25450/2021 dated 19.03.2025 together with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame.

2. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either sides and perused the records

3. Though a larger prayer has been sought for in this writ Petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to direct the 2nd respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 24.01.2024. 3/6

Accordingly, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, a direction is issued to the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 24.01.2024, within a period of 6 weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not made any observation with regard to the merits of the case.

5. In view of the aforesaid directions, the Writ Petition is disposed. No costs.
