The petitioners seek anticipatory bail in Crime No.136 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offence punishable under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982, r/w 7(1)a(ii) of E.C.Act, 1958.

2. It is stated that the respondent had intercepted an Eicher Lorry bearing Regn.No.TN-87-C7-7326 and when it was searched, they found that the accused were in possession of 3,500 kgs of PDS Rice and the same was illegally transported. It is further stated that A1 and A2 had been arrested. A3 had also been arrested. The petitioners are brothers, but, it is contended that they are brokers for purchase of rice.

3. In view of all those facts and taking into consideration that a large quantity of rice is involved in this case, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
