Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of habeas corpus calling for the records relating to the petitioner's missing father Paranthaman, S/o.Kannan, aged about 68 years, and direct the respondents herein to produce the petitioner's father Paranthaman, before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner, who is the son of the detenu, has filed this habeas corpus petition pursuant to a complaint registered in Crime No. 153 of 2019 for man missing.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties. 3.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents placing reliance upon the status report filed submitted that the detenu is an old person of about 70 years and he is also deaf. Despite the efforts made, the detenu is yet to be traced.

4.The detenu is stated to be missing from 26.06.2019 onwards. Therefore, there is no useful purpose that would be served in keeping this habeas corpus petition pending particularly after perusing the status report filed by the respondents.

5.In such view of the matter, the habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the second respondent/Inspector of Police to continue with the investigation and make an endeavour to trace and secure the detenu.
