The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 6 (4) of Tamil Nadu Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) Order 1982 and Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.159 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.It is stated that the respondent had inspected a rice Godown at Arasur, Pothiyampalayam and seized 11000 Kgs of PDS rice and 7000 Kgs of Kurunai rice. The first accused has been arrested and still in custody. 3.In view of the huge quantity of the PDS rice which had been seized, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
