O R D E R

The petitioners have filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 19.06.2017 within a time frame. 2.It is the case of the petitioners that they have given the representations to the respondents seeking for issuance of patta as well as for providing electricity service connection on 19.06.2017.

3.Ms.L.Parvin Banu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that though the petitioners have given their representations as early as on 19.06.2017, the respondents 5 & 6 have not considered the representations dated 19.06.2017 so far.

4.Ms.A.Madhumathi, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that the petitioners are in possession of Government Poramboke and therefore, they are not entitled for patta.

5.Mr.N.Damodaran, learned standing counsel for the respondents 6 & 7 submitted that the petitioners'

representation dated 19.06.2017 would be considered in accordance with law, within a time frame.

6.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 5th respondent to pass orders on the petitioners' representation dated 19.06.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Similarly, I also direct the 6th respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 19.06.2017 and pass orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
