Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to give permission to the petitioner to meet the detenu Sinik @ Deepack @ Chanduru, son of Rajan, aged 32 years, admitted in Prisoners Ward, Government Medical College & Hospital, Coimbatore regarding the case to secure the ends of justice.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner, who is a lawyer, has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition seeking a direction to the respondents to give permission to him to meet the detenu.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though such a permission was indeed granted, it was in the presence of the police personnel. The petitioner was also given sufficient time to meet the detenu.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State submitted that despite the fact that the detenu was in ICU, the petitioner was allowed to meet him. Now, the detenu has returned back to the prison and therefore, the petitioner would be permitted to see the detenu as per the Prison Manual. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor also assured that during such meeting, the police personnel would keep a watch over but will not overhear the discussion between the petitioner and the detenu. The aforesaid statement stands recorded.

4. In such view of the matter, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of.
