O R D E R

The petitioner has sought a mandamus directing the respondents to consider her representation dated 26.10.2023 for issuance of legal heirship certificate in the case of one Mr.Venkatesan.

2. Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondents and has instructions to make preliminary submission to the effect that for issuance of legal heirship certificate, a representation will not suffice and a manual application in a prescribed format shall be filed.

3. Faced with this position, Mr.Madasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner would agree that an on-line application will be filed in accordance with the appropriate Rules and Regulations and as per G.O.Ms.No.478, Revenue & Disaster Management, Revenue Administration Wing, RA-3(2) Section, dated 29.09.2022.

4. Hence, the petitioner is permitted to make such application within a period of two (2) weeks from today. Upon receipt of such application, R2 - 2 / 4

Tahsildar, Tambaram Taluk, who is the appropriate authority to consider the application, shall call upon the petitioner as well as any others who he may deem necessary, cause proper enquiry and dispose the same/issue legal heirship certificate in accordance with law and all prevailing Rules and Regulations within a period of four (4) weeks from date of receipt of the application.
