(Order of the Court was made by R. MAHADEVAN, J.) Challenging the notice dated 12.06.2017 issued by the second respondent and seeking a direction to the respondents to enter the name of the petitioner in the patta pertaining to the land in S.No.169/2 = Old S.No.384 of Virupakshi Village, Kurinjipadi Taluk, Cuddalore District measuring an extent of 0.60.0 Hectares, the present writ petition came to be filed.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his grandfather by name Rasambu Padayachi had purchased the subject land vide sale deed dated 02.03.1944 and also obtained patta bearing no.512 in his name. After his demise, the said land was transferred to the name of father of the petitioner viz., Ramachandran. Thereafter, the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the same by cultivating sugarcane. While so, the second respondent issued a notice dated 12.06.2017 stating that the subject land has been a part of Bhoomidan land. Feeling aggrieved, the petitioner is before this court with the present writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

3. However, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submitted that it would suffice, if the petitioner is granted liberty to agitate his rights before the authority concerned.
