Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the representation dated 14.05.2022 of the petitioner in
accordance with law, within the time limit stipulated by this Court so as to remove all the encroachment in S.No.200/2, Veeramur Village, Kanai Block, Villupuram Taluk, Villupuram District and restore the land to its original usage as Cart-track and water channel. ORDER
(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) The petitioner seeks a direction to the first respondent to dispose of his representation dated 14.05.2022 with regard to the removal of encroachment in S.No.200/2, Veeramur Village, Kanai Block, Villupuram Taluk, Villupuram District and to restore the land to its original usage as Cart-track and water channel.
2. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, taking notice for the respondents 1 to 3, submitted that after conducting survey, if any encroachment is found, the same would
be removed, after issuing notice to the encroachers. He also submitted that even the petitioner has made an encroachment.
3. In the light of the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the official respondents to conduct survey on the basis of the revenue records and to find out whether there is any encroachment as alleged by the petitioner. If any encroachment is found, on survey, by the encroachers as well as the petitioner, the same shall be removed, after issuing notice. The above exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, WMP No.34677 of 2022 is closed.
