Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the First and Second Respondents to consider and pass such appropriate orders on Petitioner representation dated 26.06.2019 requesting the First and Second Respondents to take necessary step to change the name of the Father as H. Karthikeyan in the school records of the Petitioner daughter Navya Karthik.

O R D E R
The Petitioner has sought for a direction to the Respondents to pass orders on his representation dated 26.06.2019 for changing his name as H.Karthikeyan in the school records maintained by the First Respondent relating to his daughter, Navya Karthik.

The First Respondent has filed Counter Affidavit, stating that in the birth certificate of the daughter of the Petitioner, viz., Navya Karthik, issued by the Kolkatta Municipal Corporation under Section 12 read with Section 17 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969, the name of the Petitioner has been entered as 'H. Karthik' and that as per the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
norms of the Second Respondent, viz., Central Board of Secondary Education, the names of the parents of the pupil have to be entered in the school records as per the entries made in the birth certificate of that pupil, and that no exception could be taken to the same.

When it is pointed that having regard to the aforesaid submissions made on behalf of the First Respondent, the Petitioner could make an application under Section 15 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969, read with Rule 12 of the West Bengal Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2000, to make necessary corrections in the name of the Petitioner in the Birth Certificate of his daughter, viz., Navya Karthik, before the Kolkotta Municipal Corporation, and work out his remedy in that regard, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the Writ Petition with liberty to resort to the same and he has made an endorsement to that effect.

Recording the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn granting such liberty. No costs.
