PRAYER: Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to dispose the representation dated 30.09.2019 preferred by the petitioner within a time frame fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.
2.A communication issued by the Special Thasildar, Egmore has been forwarded by the learned Additional Government Pleader. This communication is dated 03.01.2020.
3.The petitioner herein is aged 78 years and he claims that there is nobody to maintain him. He is not married and he does not have a family. He is leading a life of poverty and he does not have any property. He is residing in a rented property and paying a monthly rent of Rs.800/- with much difficulty. The petitioner claims that he had made a representation to the respondents on 30.09.2019 claiming monthly old age pension. It is stated that no orders have been passed on the representation, which led to the petitioner to file the present writ petition. 4.In the communication mentioned above, the Special Thasildar, Egmore had stated that the petitioner's representation had been received and after due process, it had been stated that from the month of February 2020, the monthly pension would be sent to the petitioner by post. 5.
In view of the fact that there is a specific undertaking given by the Special Thasildar, Egmore, with respect to the compliance of the request of the petitioner, nothing further survives in the writ petition and consequently, the present Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
