ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that on 17.03.2021, the accused drove the vehicle and caused injuries. The defacto complainant died and has not filed any claim petition. The case was registered in Crime No.226 of 2018 for the alleged offences under Sections 279, 337 and 338 of Indian Penal Code, 1860.

3. When the matter was called, the accused was present before the Court and pleaded guilty.

4. Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that he has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.300/- for the offence under Sections 279 and 337 of IPC and Rs.200/- for the offence under Section 338 of IPC shall be imposedThe fine amount shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court. 5. Accordingly, the case in S.T.C.No.183 of 2020 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II Court, Namakkal Taluk, Namakkal shall stand quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
