The prayer sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to consider the Application No.ARN:191010158437 and issue Passport to the petitioner without reference to the FIR in Crime No.107 of 2019 under Section-4 of TNOPPD Act, 1959 registered on 26.07.2019.
The learned Special Government Pleader, produced a communication received by him from the Sub-Inspector of Police, Ambalur Police Station, Vellore District, wherein it has been stated that the FIR in Crime No.107 of 2019 had been registered under Section-4 of TNOPPD Act, 1959. It is further stated in the said communication that the investigation has been completed and final report has already been laid before the competent Court. It is also stated that the Sub-Inspector of Police has no objection for grant of the Passport.

In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to renew or re-issue the passport, after due verification, if necessary, in accordance with law and issue to the petitioner. However, if the petitioner is to go abroad, appropriate permission has to be obtained from the concerned Magistrate Court, when the final report has been filed.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
