PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.07.2024 and 20.08.2024 and pass orders.

ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as the Assistant Professor in the Government Medical College at Chengalpattu by the Director of Medical Education in the year 1969 and he was superannuated on 30.11.1997. Thereafter, the petitioner has been receiving his pension as per the pension payment order No.C18672/MED dated 09.06.1998 w.e.f 01.12.1997. The grievance of the petitioner is that as per G.O.Ms.No.120 dated 06.04.2018 he is entitled for 20% additional pension in addition to the pension admissible and as per G.O.Ms.No.236 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 12.07.2018, the petitioner is eligible for a revised pension of Rs.58,473/-. However, the petitioner is receiving only a sum of Rs.36,910/- as pension as against the eligible pension amount of Rs.58,473/-. Apart from that, as per G.O.Ms.No.120 dated 06.04.2018, the petitioner is entitled for an additional amount of Rs.11,694/- as additional pension amount from 12.11.2019 onwards. 2/5
Thus, as per G.O.Ms.No.236 dated 12.07.2018, the petitioner is entitled for a sum of Rs.58,473/- from 01.07.2018 and from 12.11.2019 he is entitled for pension for a sum of Rs.70,167/- ( Rs.48,473/- + Rs.11,694/-) as his basic pension apart from the prospective monetary benefits such as Dearness Allowance and Medical Allowance etc., Hence, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 18.07.2024 and 20.08.2024. However, no action has been taken by the respondents till date. Hence this petition.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the representation of the petitioner will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.
5. Considering the facts of the case, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider 3/5
the representation of the petitioner as per the relevant Government Orders and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
