Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2017. ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the second respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner on 19.06.2017.

2. The daughter of the writ petitioner got married with one Mr.Thennarasu and their marriage was registered on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Ganapathy, Coimbatore.

3. The petitioner is the father of the girl and submitted a representation for cancellation of registration of the marriage. Such an application filed by the father of the bride is not maintainable and the marriage was solemnized in accordance with the provisions of the statute and therefore, the representation submitted by the petitioner is not entertainable in the absence of any consent from the parties, who have registered their marriage before the Registering Authority.

4. Thus, the writ petition is dismissed. There will be no order as to
