The petitioners who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 04.09.2023, for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 324, 506(ii) and 307 of IPC in Crime No.279 of 2023 on the file of the respondent Police, seek bail.
2.There are totally 7 accused in this case. The case of the prosecution is that owing to the previous enmity, all the accused had joined together and assaulted the defacto complainant in the cricket ground, when he was standing beside Egattur road. 3.It is stated that all the accused used knife as a weapon. It is only obvious that there had been intention to commit the said offence. It is also informed that A1 and A2 had been detained under Act 14 of 1982 and there is a proposal to detain the first petitioner under Act 14 of 1982. 4.It is also stated that A5 had been granted bail by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Thiruvallur.
5.But however taking into consideration the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the petitioners could have been engaged to do the said offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. 6.Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 17.11.2023 vkr 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
