PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue Writ of Mandamus or any other direction in the nature of writ, directing the 2nd respondent to immediately shift the petitioner's husband namely K.Anburaj S/o.T.Kuppan aged about 58 years now confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai as remand prisoner to Vijaya Hospital, Apollo Hospital or any other Super Speciality Hospital and to provide timely medical treatment considering the gravity of OPHTAHLMIC complications suffered by the petitioner's husband.

The petition is filed by the wife of the remanding prisoner seeking medical attention to her husband who is in need of cataract surgery.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the State submitted that the only objection is that the remanding prisoner seeks treatment at private hospital, whereas, the Government Hospital Ophthalmology, Egmore has all required facilities and if need, he will be taken to the Government Hospital for the treatment.
3. In the above circumstances, it is sufficient to direct the Superintendent of Prison, Central Prison, Puzhal to get opinion from the Prison Doctor about the health condition of the remand prisoner Mr.Anburaj S/o.T.Kuppan and if in case inpatient treatment is required, the Superintendent, shall make necessary arrangements for the same immediately. This process should be completed within a period of seven days from today.
