ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to dispose the petitioner's representations dated 19.08.2024 and 06.08.2025 pending on the file of the respondent. Page No.1 of 4
2. Ms.V.Usha, learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry), accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the absolute owner of the property at No.46, Odiampet Revenue Village, Villianur SRO in Re-Survey No.159/3, Cadastre No.151/2/1, 151/2/2 to an extent of 51 Kuzhi 15 Veesam, having purchased the same vide sale deed dated 17.07.1986 from one Ponnuthmari Pierre Francesva Moseph and Ponnuthamari Muil Athiruban Jayaraj. Originally, a joint pattawas issued in faovur of the petitioner's vendor's father and Jayaganda Mariamman Chitthi Vinayagar temple. Thereafter, he approached the revenue authorities for issuance of separate patta in his name to the extent of his property alone by submitting an application dated 17.07.2024, for which, a reply dated 05.08.2024 was issued by the Tahsildar, Villianur, stating that the total extent of land 57 ares and 50 cents in R.S.No.159/3 is listed as temple land. Hence, the petitioner was advised to clarify the issue with the respondent department. Therefore, he made representations dated 19.08.2024 and 06.08.2025 before the respondent. considered, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition before this Court for appropriate orders.
4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and also perused the materials available on record.
5. This Court is of the view that the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be decided either by the respondent department or by the revenue officials and the same can be decided only by the competent Civil Court. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent Civil Court for appropriate remedy.
