O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for directing the 2nd respondent to transfer the investigation in Crime No.668 of 2022 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Sooramangalam Police Station, Salem District to the file of 3rd respondent or any other competent authority to conduct a free and fair investigation and to file a final report within a stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that her daughter namely Gayathri died under a mysterious circumstances in her residence by hanging herself. Though, the First Information Report was registered on 25.10.2022, there is no progress in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner suspects the role of his son-in-law namely Seenivasan in the death of her daughter. Therefore, this petition is filed to transfer the investigation to CBCID or any other competent authority.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that investigation in this case is in progress. Postmortem report is received. However, viscera report and final opinion on the cause of the death of the deceased is not received yet. The son of the deceased has given a statement that the deceased used to have telephone conversation with another person. The respondent police have collected the details.

4. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, this Court finds that the investigation is proceeding in right direction and there is no need to transfer the investigation to CBCID or any other competent authority.
