ORDER
This Writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 07.07.2025 and dispose of the same within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Mr.V.Jeevagiridharan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The case of the petitioner is that, out of love and affection, the petitioner executed settlement deeds in favour of her sons namely Senthil Kumar and Vijayakumar in respect of the properties measuring an extent of 438.44 square metre and 5330 square metre respectively. However, after execution of the above settlement deeds, as the petitioner's sons are not taking care of her for the past about eleven years, the petitioner gave a Monday petition to the District Collector on 07.04.2025. The said petition dated 07.04.2025 was forwarded to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Seerkali, who in turn, without considering the grievances of the petitioner, rejected her claim, vide order dated 10.06.2025, without assigning any proper reason. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an Appeal under Section 18 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior 2/5
Citizens Act, 2007, before the respondent. However, till date, no orders have been passed on the same. Hence the petitioner, being a Senior citizen, has come up with the present Writ Petition, seeking speedy disposal of her appeal dated 07.07.2025.
4. Though very many grounds have been raised, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 07.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders, as early as possible.
5. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that, appropriate orders will be passed on the petitioner's appeal dated 07.07.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and also considering that the petitioner is a senior citizen aged about 80 years, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 07.07.2025 and pass 3/5
appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.
7. With the above directions, this Writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
