Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the concerned Respondents 1 to 7 to grant the compensation for the land acquired in the Survey Nos.169/ 5 and 170/3 of Orappam village, Bargur Taluk, Krishnagiri District. ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the concerned respondents 1 to 7 to grant compensation for the land acquired in Survey Nos.169/5 and 170/3 of Orappam Village, Bargur Taluk and Krishnagiri District.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the owner of the subject lands, which are ancestral in nature. A portion of the said lands was acquired by the respondents for the purpose of canal formation. Despite such acquisition and utilisation of the petitioner's lands, no compensation has been paid to the petitioner. He further submitted that the petitioner has been continuously pursuing the matter by making several representations to the concerned authorities from time to time, requesting payment of compensation in accordance with law. Though certain steps were stated to have been taken, no final decision has been communicated and the

petitioner has not been granted the compensation due to him, while similarly placed landowners have been paid. Hence, the petitioner prayed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.09.2023 and pass appropriate orders.

3. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 7 would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 09.09.2023 will be considered by the concerned respondents within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the concerned respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 09.09.2023, after issuing due notice and opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the private respondent and aggrieved parties, if any, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. At the time of personal hearing, the petitioner is directed to submit all relevant documents before the concerned respondent.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
