O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 & 2 herein with regard to the disbursement of the petitioner's salary and his yearly increments for the period from 01.04.2020 to 31.08.2020 to the tune of Rs.2,17,500/- and increment from 01.09.2020 to 30.06.2021 for a sum of Rs.1,76,301/- and GPF amount recovered from his salary from 01.01.2020 to 31.08.2021 to the tune of Rs.1,28,000/- into his account.

2. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that the petitioner had retired from service as Assistant from Namakkal Municipality. It had been contended that he did not receive his salary from 01.04.2020 to 31.08.2020 and increment from 01.09.2020 to 2/5

30.06.2021 and GPF recovered from salary from 01.01.2020 to 31.08.2021.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that yesterday i.e., on 26.03.2025 the petitioner had gone over to the office of the respondents and they had paid a sum of Rs.1,34,428/- by way of cheque. The respondents have held out that they would pay the balance amount within a period of four weeks. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the GPF amount must also be paid as aforementioned.

A direction is issued to the respondents to pay the entire balance amount within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and if they fail to do so, they would have to pay interest @ 6% p.a. on the balance amount payable from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement. It would only be the interest of the respondents to pay the balance amount within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
