This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in S.T.C.No.365 of 2024 pending on the file of the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Edappadi, Salem District. Page Nos.1/4

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen from the records that trial in S.T.C.No.365 of 2024 has commenced, P.W.1 was examined and Exs.P1 to P4 were marked and the matter was posted for cross examination of P.W.1. At this stage, the present petition is filed seeking to quash the said STC on the ground that the complaint was taken on cognizance beyond the period of limitation. If the petitioner has any grievance, he can very well canvass the same before the Magistrate concerned during trial. Hence, this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings in S.T.C.No.365 of 2024 at this stage.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. It is open to the petitioner to take all his defence before the Magistrate concerned during trial. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
