R.Palani ... Respondent This case is taken up for settlement before the National Lok- Adalat. Both the parties are present. Mr.J.Suresh, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.M.Manivannan, learned counsel for the respondent

are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows:

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT This Criminal Revision Petition is filed to set aside the judgment dated 17.09.2021 made against C.A.No.584 of 2018 on the file of V Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai, confirming the order passed in C.C.No.5855 of 2016 on the file of XIX Metropolitan Magistrate, Rippon Building 600 003, dated 04.10.2018.

2. The appellant herein has been convicted by the trial Court for the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The complainant has claimed Rs.4,80,000/- on the instrument of the cheque in C.C.No.5855 of 2016. On 09.12.2024, the appellant herein has paid a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- in Crl.A.No.584 of 2018 to the complainant.

3. Today the appellant has agreed to pay the remaining balance amount of Rs.3,30,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs and Thirty Thousand Only), to the complainant and the same shall be paid on or before 10.01.2025, failing which the said amount shall carry interest at

9% per annum.

The full Court fee paid shall be refunded to the appellant in the manner provided under Section 69-A of the Tamil Nadu Court-Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 and the Court Fees Act, 1870 as provided for under sub Sec.1 of Section 21 r/w 25 of LSA Act 1987 as amended in 1994.
