ORDER
By consent of both the parties, this writ petition has been taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.Mr.R.U.Dinesh Rajkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent. Ms.H.Mary Soumi Rexi, representing for Mr.P.Godson Swaminath, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3. 3.This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 29.06.2022, 14.07.2022 and 04.08.2022 and to sanction and disburse the terminal benefits and the amount due to the petitioner under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS No.CPST0117) with interest at 2/6
18% per annum.
4.The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that though she was terminated from service, her terminal benefits have not been paid till date by the third respondent University. She has given representations on various dates.
5.Now it is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 that Audit Objection, which was earlier raised by the Accountant General Office, has now been cleared and therefore, the third respondent will be disbursing the terminal benefits as per the Rules/Statutes, within a period of eight weeks.
6.Heard Mr.R.Saravanan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.U.Dinesh Rajkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and Ms.H.Mary Soumi Rexi, representing for Mr.P.Godson Swaminath, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 2 and 3/University. 7.This Court is of the considered view that within a period of eight 3/6
weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, the third respondent University will have to disburse the terminal benefits to the petitioner.
8.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to disburse the terminal benefits to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
