Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, praying to punish the respondent for contempt of Court and direct the respondent to comply with the order dated 16.02.2023 passed in W.A.No.361 of 2020 merged into the order dated 05.03.2019 in W.P.No.12571 of 2004.

ORDER

The learned counsel for the respondent, by placing reliance on the letter of the Assistant General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Central Office, Chennai, dated 26.02.2025, would submit that the order of the Writ Court has been complied with and orders have been passed modifying the original punishment of dismissal from service into reduction of basic pay by five stages with cumulative effect and that all the eligible amounts have been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner through two demand drafts bearing DD.Nos.149988198 and 149988209 for Rs.6,29,857.44 and Rs.4,88,262352 respectively.

2. In view of the said submission, the disobedience alleged against the respondent cannot be termed to be willful in nature. Accordingly, the Contempt Petition stands closed with liberty to the petitioner to workout his remedies in accordance with law.
