ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 12.08.2025 for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(c) of TNP Act, in Crime No.327 of 2025, on the file of respondent police, seeks bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that on receipt of the secret information, the respondent police found that the petitioner has found in possession of 270 kgs of banned tobacco products and 4 ltrs of Karnataka state liquor illegally, without any valid licence. Hence the case.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner has been suffering incarceration from 12.08.2025. He also submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner is having 4 previous case similar in nature. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.
5. Taking note to the gravity of the offence, and the investigation is not completed, and on considering the bad antecedents, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
