ORDER
The petitioner has given a complaint against the 3rd respondent on 06.03.2018 which has been registered by the second respondent police in C.S.R.No.34 of 2018 alleging that the third respondent a politician and former Minister threatening him. This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the first and second respondents to extend police protection to the petitioner and his family members and also take suitable action against the third respondent as per the representation of the petitioner dated 05.03.2018.

The learned counsel appearing for the 3rd respondent submitted that it is a civil dispute between the petitioner and the third respondent regarding a piece of land, which was let out for use and occupation of the third respondent by the petitioner.

Now, the petitioner and the third respondent have compromised the dispute and settled the issue.

The Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that, after this complaint, no untoward incident happened to take cognizance and further the petitioner did not show any interest in the investigation. So, there is no progress in the investigation on his complaint. 6.
The allegation of threat by the third respondent as a person politically powerful and influence does not exist as on date, since he does not belong to the party, which is ruling the State at present and also the 3/5
averment found in the complaint indicates that it is only a civil dispute and nothing for the police to investigate or interfere. 7.
In such circumstances, there is no useful purpose in keeping the writ petition pending on the Board, which has become infructuous and not worthy to consider for any purpose. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
