The Criminal Original Petition is filed to set aside the order passed by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai in an application filed for suspension of sentence imposed by the trial Court.
2. The said petition was considered by this Court on 05.09.2023 and was disposed of with a direction to the petitioner herein to deposit 20% of the compensation amount fixed by the trial Court within a period of 60 days i.e., on 05.09.2023. The petitioner who could not pay the said 20% compensation amount within the time prescribed has sought for extension of time by filing Crl.M.P.No.18555 of 2023 which was came up for consideration before this Court on 28.11.2023. To show the bonafide of the petitioner, this Court directed the petitioner to draw the demand draft for the said 20% compensation amount i.e., Rs.4,00,000/- and if could draw the demand draft for the said amount, time to deposit is extended. 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. Today the learned counsel produced the demand draft dated 30.11.2023 for a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- drawn in favour of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai.
4. Since the petitioner has proved his bonafide to deposit 20% of the compensation amount, time to make said deposit in the CC account is extended by 08.12.2023.
