PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 13.2.2024 seeking patta in respect of the land comprised in Survey No.143, Athimugam Panchayat, Punnagaram Village, Shoolagiri Taluk, Krishnagiri District.

ORDER

Seeking a Mandamus to the third respondent to dispose of the representation dated 13.2.2024 for the issuance of patta in a time bound manner, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondents.

3. The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that despite submitting the representation as early as 13.2.2024, the third respondent has not called upon him to attend an inquiry nor issued patta.

4. Taking note of the delay whereby the third respondent failed to discharge his statutory duty, the writ petition is allowed and a Mandamus is issued to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.2.2024 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
