The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to forbear the respondents, their men and agents from acquiring the petitioner's lands comprised in S.No.174/2 measuring 172 cents purchased vide a Deed of Sale dated 24.06.1999, registered as Document No.986/2000 at the SRO, Thiruvottiyur and lands comprised in S.Nos.174/3C measuring 21 cents pruchased vide a Deed of Sale dated 24.06.1999, registered as Document No.996/2000 at the SRO, Thiruvottiyur, all the lands situated in Mathur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvallur District.
2. The Writ Petition was instituted in the year 2004 based on the apprehension that the lands belonged to the petitioners were said to be acquired. On account of efflux of time, the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition lost its relevance. More so, the relief to forbear the respondents from acquiring the land cannot be granted in writ proceedings.
