Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the proceedings of the respondent in Na.Ka.No.659/2016/C1 dated 06.02.2017 and quash the same and thereby consequently direct the respondent to promote the petitioner to the post of Sanitary Supervisor in the Gobichettipalayam Municipality or in any other Municipality where there is vacancy to the post of Sanitary Supervisor. ORDER

The prayer in the Writ Petition is for a Certiorarified Mandamus quashing the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.659/2016/C1 dated 06.02.2017. The impugned proceedings reject his request to the respondent to equate a pre-foundation course completed by the petitioner with X standard SSLC for entering into public service.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner now brings to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has, during the pendency of this writ petition, completed the VIII standard public examination in private study in January 2017. The prayer in the Writ petition is thus infructuous, in the light of the fact that the petitioner has completed the VIII standard examination and is closed, as such.

3. The petitioner is at liberty to make an application before the authorities seeing promotion and such application, if and when filed by the petitioner, shall be considered by the authorities in accordance with law and all applicable regulations.

4. This writ petition and miscellaneous petition are closed. No costs.
