ORDER

This contempt petition is filed alleging violation of the order dated 24.02.2020 passed in W.P.No.29566 of 2008, whereby this Court directed the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Head Constable Grade-I and Sub-Inspector of police on par with his Junior

one Mr.P.Venkatachalam whose name was shown in Sl.No.1838 in the list of Head Constable due for the promotion to the post of Sub Inspector of Police. 2.When the matter is taken up for consideration, the respondents placed before this Court a copy of the proceedings C.No.A3/31689/2024 dated 11.11.2024 stating that the case of the petitioner was considered and accordingly, he was promoted on par with his Junior Mr.P.Venkatachalam by giving the date of promotion as 05.09.2002 and 06.05.2003 in the cadre of Grade-I PC and Head Constable and promotion to the post of Sub Inspector of Police (A.R) with effect from 15.07.2013 and accordingly, the seniority is fixed above the said P.Venkatachalam.

3.In the light of the above, this Court is convinced that there is no violation of the order passed by this Court. In case if the petitioner is aggrieved by the proceedings dated 11.11.2024 in any manner, it is open to the petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law. 4.In view of the same, contempt petition is closed. 23.01.2025 vsn
